Spencer Girls Soccer Opens Season with Win

The Tiger girls opened the season with a 7-2 victory Monday night against Spirit Lake Park-Okoboji.

The Tigers were paced by a hat trick from Kim Shabino as well as goals from fellow senior Emily Coldren, sophomores Sidney Salton and Kaity Mason and a goal from freshman Darion Helle on her varsity debut.

The Tigers tested the Indians goal throughout the game with 32 shots and 16 shots on target.

SPL-O’s goals came in the second half from Hazkhett Zeledon and Kayla Herrig.

Spencer is now 1-0 on the season and next faces the MOC-FV lady Dutch on Thursday night in Orange City.
